Environmental Degradation from Industrial Activities

Industrial activities, ranging from manufacturing to energy production, emit pollution, hazardous waste, and greenhouse gases. Chemicals released from factories can harm the environment, and accidents can have long-term consequences. Communities living near industrial facilities are frequently exposed to higher levels of pollutants, generating concerns about environmental justice.

Toxic chemical releases into rivers have been known to harm aquatic life and taint drinking water. Mismanaged industrial waste can contaminate soil and provide long-term health problems.
